How to Find Netherite in Minecraft (2025 Guide)

Netherite is the ultimate material in Minecraft; its durability and power surpass even that of diamonds. That is why this is the perfect material to own and use in crafting the game’s tools, weapons, and armor. However, acquiring them is not an easy task; you have to journey to the deep ends of the Nether. Here is a simple breakdown of how to find Netherite in Minecraft and obtain it.

How to Get Netherite in Minecraft

To get Netherite in Minecraft, mine Ancient Debris in the Nether (Y-level 15 is most efficient), smelt it into Netherite Scrap, and combine it with Gold Ingots to craft Netherite Ingots. Use a Smithing Table to upgrade Diamond gear with Netherite for better durability and strength.

Step 1: Mine Ancient Debris

Netherite is obtained from Ancient Debris, a rare ore found in the Nether. This ore typically spawns between Y-levels 8 and 22, with Y-level 15 offering the best yield. Since Ancient Debris is blast-resistant, you can efficiently expose it using TNT or beds. Always come prepared with Fire Resistance potions to protect against lava and hostile mobs.

Step 2: Smelt Ancient Debris

Once collected, smelt Ancient Debris in a Blast Furnace. Each piece will yield one Netherite Scrap.

Step 3: Craft Netherite Ingots

To craft a Netherite Ingot, combine four Netherite Scraps and four Gold Ingots on a crafting table. This will produce one Netherite Ingot.

How to Use Netherite in Minecraft:

Use Netherite Ingots to upgrade Diamond gear. Place a Diamond item (sword, pickaxe, or armor) along with a Netherite Ingot on a Smithing Table. The upgraded gear will be more durable, resistant to knockback, and will not burn in lava.

Tips to Farm Netherite in Minecraft:

  • Mine between Y-levels 8 and 22; level 15 is most effective.
  • Use TNT or beds to reveal Ancient Debris quickly.
  • Carry Fire Resistance potions to stay safe in lava.
  • Use an Efficiency V pickaxe to speed up mining.
  • Fortune does not affect Ancient Debris drops, but helps with other valuable resources nearby.
  • Bring plenty of food, weapons, armor, and blocks to handle Nether mobs and hazards.

By following these optimized steps, you’ll farm Netherite more efficiently and keep your tools and armor upgraded for survival and battle.
